In 1995 we applied for registration to BS EN ISO 9002:1994 Quality Systems - Specification for production, installation and servicing.
Our certification body is ISOQAR who issued our certificate number 583/94 on 12th May 1995.
In October 2003 we achieved approval to the new standard EN ISO9001:2000
Stockist and distributor of electronic components with or without source lot traceability including software packages and the supply of integrated computer systems.
We have been the subject of periodic on-going assessments by ISOQAR since 1995 and our certification was renewed in October 2006.
We have a Quality Manual which explains how our Quality System meets the requirements of EN ISO 9001:2000. A copy of the manual is available for customer review at our premises.
Associated with the Quality Manual, we have a full set of Business Procedures which define what we do to manage our Quality System and our business.
A batch traceability system is operated in our stores such that product received from approved 'lot traceable' suppliers is traceable back to source manufacturing batch even after shipment to customers.
All customer orders are subject to defined review procedures to ensure that the detail is correct and that any specific customer requirements are achieved.
A signed Certificate of Conformity is provided with customer consignments on request.
Quality is ensured by defined inspection processes throughout the goods handling process from Goods In to Final Despatch. Product failing inspection is immediately segregated pending a disposition decision.
We run a full customer product returns service, each of which is logged and details recorded in an individual standard report format. Our Logistics Team are responsible for the tracking of returns, identifying the cause of the return and for ensuring corrective action is speedily concluded. The report is signed off by our Quality Management Representative only after completion of corrective action. Other forms of complaint and non-conformance with the requirements of our Quality System are similarly treated.
Statistics and trends regarding the cause of the returns, complaints and other non-conformances are compiled for help in identifying where preventive action is necessary. Our Quality Manager reviews this data on a regular basis and reports to our Management Team if their attention is required. In any case, the data is reviewed at our Quality System Management Review Meetings which occur six-monthly.
All our Quality System elements are audited at least once per year by an external agency. All the critical business procedures are audited twice per year. Audit reports are compiled with corresponding Deficiency Reports, with corrective actions identified to any problems found. Deficiency Reports are signed off by the Quality Manager only after all corrective action is complete. The Audit Reports constitute a major input the Annual Assessment Audit conducted by our Certification Body ISOQAR.
All measuring equipment is regularly checked and certified calibrated to National Standards by an external contractor. Records are maintained for each item, of history and calibration due dates.
All handling of product during the package opening and repacking processes is carried out on antistatic protected benches by operatives wearing earthed wrist straps.
Customer visits to review our Quality System in operation are welcomed by arrangement.

Mr N Lidington, Managing Director, September 2007
Sequoia Technology is an environmentally aware company. As a distributor not manufacturer, we are not accredited to any formal environmental standard. However, we take our responsibilities to the environment seriously for the benefits of all today, and for future generations.
Our culture is to use nature's resources wisely and to minimise waste by internal recycling and reuse wherever possible. We will comply with our local council's recycling policy, segregate our refuse accordingly and enable the collection of materials for recycling which otherwise would have been destined for landfill.
Our waste is principally packaging and paper products:-
Packaging from incoming deliveries is used for outgoing shipments where suitable. Polystyrene chips, boxes and IC tubes (whose anti-static suitability is proved) are reused. We purchase second-hand IC tubes/trays (again whose anti-static suitability is proved). We also use shredded paper from office waste.
Paper usage is minimised by the use of electronic transmission of documents and data sheets where possible. We source paper for printing with a high recycled content. We use recycled toner cartridges in our printers and return them to the supplier for further recycling.
We recycle all unused boxes, cardboard and paper via internal and external bins for regular collection by our refuse collectors.
This Environmental Policy will be reviewed by our management regularly as part of our Quality System, in order to ensure that we continue to take advantage of new approaches to recycling and waste disposal as they become available
