The AMP1100 is a single channel instrumentation amplifier that has been designed to use with the Sequoia range of heat flux sensors.

The AMP1100 is designed to work with the SB1000, and SB2000 Schmidt Boelter gauge and the TG1000, TG2000 and TG9000 thermogage heat flux sensors. These sensors are designed to provide a linear output proportional to heat flux with a full scale output of 10mV in normal operation. The heat flux sensors are capable of being overdriven by about 50% while still giving good results, but more than 100% overdrive will be destructive.

The AMP1100 uses high quality female Lemo sockets for its input and output to provide good signal integrity. 2 spare male Lemo plugs are provided with the product so that the data logger/voltmeter and heat flux sensor can be connected to the unit. If you purchase the heat flux sensor at the same time as the amplifier we will fit the connector to the heat flux sensor for you. We use Lemo part number EGG.0B.302.CLL for our inputs if you need to source any more connectors for any reason (specify a male connector to mate with this such as FGG.0B.302.CLAD52Z).

Gain on the heat flux input is fixed at the factory and can be specified at between 10 and 1,000. Non-standard gains can be set if required to meet special requirements. Because heat flux can flow into and out of the sensor, the heat flux sensor output can go positive and negative. The amplifier is supplied with a low noise ±15V linear power supply to allow amplification of positive and negative inputs. It is possible to specify that the input be fitted with a low pass filter of 100mS time constant if required by the application. Zero is set at the factory and offsets can be applied at this time by special order.
